SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE
Scott Air Force Base located in St. Clair County, Illinois and is surrounded by several communities including O’Fallon, Shiloh, Belleville, Fairview Heights, Mascoutah, Swansea, Troy, Lebanon, Smithton, Columbia and Caseyville. Scott AFB has a significant impact on the communities it surrounds.  In fact, Scott AFB’s regional economic impact is roughly $2.1 billion.

Scott Air Force Base is home to the Air Mobility Command and the U.S. Transportation Command.  The base is also home to the Air Force Reserve Command’s 932 Airlift Wing, the 126th Illinois Air National Guard Refueling Wing and is operated by the 375th Air Mobility Wing.  In addition, two new cybersecurity squadrons were added to the base.

Scott Air Force Base currently employs approximately 5,600 active duty military personnel, 2,400 Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve members and more than 5,000 civilian employees.  In addition, nearly 10,000 family members are assigned to Scott AFB and there are approximately 19,000 retired military members assigned to Scott AFB.  

Several former military members have elected to retire in Southern Illinois and raise a family in our communities including, O’Fallon, Shiloh, Mascoutah, Lebanon, Belleville, Caseyville, Troy, Fairview Heights, Smithton, Columbia and other local cities.

O’FALLON, ILLINOIS
O'Fallon is a beautiful city in Southern Illinois and is one of the fastest-growing communities in the Metropolitan St. Louis area. It’s truly a great place to raise your family and call home.  O’Fallon offers a very strong school system, low crime rates, a low unemployment rate and steady job growth.

LEBANON ILLINOIS
Lebanon is a city in St. Clair County Illinois and has a population of about 5,500 people. Lebanon is located about 15 min from Downtown St. Louis and is about 10 min from Scott AFB. Lebanon Illinois is also home to McKendree University, the oldest college in Illinois.  It’s also important to note that several subdivisions in Lebanon, Illinois are located within the O’Fallon School District, including Cobblestone Ridge.  Cobblestone Ridge is an executive subdivision built by State Construction.  State Construction is a 3rd generation construction company that’s been building new homes in the O’Fallon area 1967. 

A few subdivisions in Lebanon Illinois include: Sunny Hill Lake Estates, Hill Lakes, Century Oaks, Foxmoor and Cobblestone Ridge.

SHILOH ILLINOIS
Shiloh Illinois is a village consisting of approximately 11,000 people and is located in Southern Illinois and is less than 1 mile from the main gate at Scott Air Force Base.  Shiloh is roughly 20 miles from downtown St. Louis and is the closest community to Scott AFB. It offers a wide range of affordable homes and is a peaceful community and has a low crime rate. 

A few subdivisions in Shiloh Illinois include: Meadows on Hartman Lane, Innsbruk, Villages at Wingate, Windsor Estates, Ashford Farms, High Valley Lake Estates, Deerfield, Keswick Estates, Eagles Landing, The Manors at Woodfield, Ravenwood Lake Estates and Waterford Place.

SMITHTON ILLINOIS
Smithton is a village in Southern Illinois and has a population of about 3,500 people.  Smithton offers a strong school system and a low crime area.  Smithton is a truly beautiful village and is a perfect community to call home if you’re looking for that small town feel. Smithton is home to Wildwood Lake Estates which is an unbelievable subdivision surrounding 3 large lakes.  Several of the homes in Wildwood Lake Estates are located on the 77 acre Wildwood Lake.  Home owners enjoy fishing, swimming and boating at their convenience.  There really isn’t another subdivision in the Metro Area quite like that of Wildwood Lake Estates. 

 A few subdivisions in Smithton Illinois include: Ledgestone Estates, Wildwood Lake Estates, Autumn Ridge, Manors of Fieldstone, Stonegate Estates and Wildwood Lake Estates West.

COLUMBIA ILLINOIS
Columbia is a city in Monroe County and St Clair County Illinois and has a population of about 10,000 people.  Columbia, Illinois is bordered by the Mississippi River on the west and is about 12 miles from Downtown St. Louis and approximately 30 minutes to Scott AFB. Columbia has seen positive job growth, population growth and has seen a steady increase in home values throughout the last several years. Columbia has a downtown main street which features several small shops and restaurants.

A few subdivisions in Columbia Illinois include: Hawthorne Estates, Lakefield Place, Gedern, Country Crossings, Brellinger, Briar Lake, Stonehenge, Pinewood Estates, The Pines, Pioneer Ridge, Stonegate Estates, Indian Hills, Christopher Lake Estates, Fox Run Estates, Village of Wernings, Hill Castle Estates, Chesapeake on the Bluff and Joyview Acres.

CASEYVILLE ILLINOIS
Caseyville is a village in St. Clair County Illinois and has a population of about 4,500 people. Caseyville is approximately 15 min from Down Town St. Louis and is roughly 10 min from SAFB. Caseyville is also home to the prestigious Far Oaks Golf Course and Far Oak Subdivision. In Addition, several homes located in Caseyville are located in the O’Fallon School District. 

 A few subdivisions in Caseyville Illinois include: Tuscany Ridge, Hillwood Estates, Woodlands at Far Oaks, The Landing at Far Oaks, Fairways at Far Oaks, The Villas at Far Oaks and Tuscany Ridge.

FAIRVIEW HEIGHTS ILLINOIS
Fairview Heights, Illinois is located in St. Clair County Illinois and has a population of about 17,000 people. Fairview Heights is the retail hub for the Metro Area and is home to the St. Clair Square. Fairview Heights is located 13 miles east of St. Louis and is about 20 min from Scott Air Force Base. Fairview Heights is also home to the Stonewolf Golf Course.

MASCOUTAH ILLINOIS
Mascoutah is a small city in Southern Illinois with a large portion of their population drawing from military personal at SAFB.  Mascoutah is located about 4 miles south of Interstate 64, about 5 min from Scott AFB and is roughly 20 minutes from St. Louis Missouri. It is also home to Mid America Air Port. Mascoutah has 4 school districts including Mascoutah Community High School, Mascoutah Middle School, Mascoutah Elementary School and Scott Air Force Base Elementary School.

SWANSEA ILLINOIS
Swansea Illinois has a population of about 10,000 people and is about 20 min from Scott Air Force Base. Swansea has two school districts including District 113, which is the Wolf Branch School District, and District 116 which is the High Mount School District. High school students attend Belleville Township High School East.

A few subdivisions in Swansea Illinois include: Sullivan Farms, Wild Horse Meadows, Stonefield Crossing, Crossfield Estates, Woodfield Lake Estates, The Chateaux at Woodfield, Enclave at Castle Pines, The Knolls at Woodfield, Wolf Creek Estates and Lake Loraine Estates.

BELLEVILLE ILLINOIS
Belleville, Illinois is about 20 minutes east of St. Louis and is less than 10 min to Scott Air Force Base.  The city has a population of about 43,000 and is the 8th most populated city outside of the Chicago Metro Area and is the most populated city in the Southern Illinois Region of the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. Belleville is a diverse community and host several specialty festivals throughout the year including the Chili Cook-off and Art of the Square.
